Are you Open on Christmas Day and New Years Day?
The Beachcomber is a great place to visit in any season! However, we are closed on Thanksgiving Day, close at 3:00 PM on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. We are OPEN on New Year’s Day for those who would like to celebrate the New Year with us!

Can I make a reservation?
YES! The Beachcomber Cafe is pleased to offer a limited number of reservations through thebeachcombercafe.com. Unfortunately, we are unable to make reservations over the phone or directly at the restaurant. Please visit thebeachcombercafe.com to make reservations for parties of 6 or less. Please note that 70% of the restaurant seating is available on a walk in “first come, first serve” basis. Thank you!

What time is Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?
Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
Lunch is served from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Dinner is served from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Bootlegger Bar is open from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM M-F, and from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM on Sat. and Sun.

How can we rent or find information about the cottages?
The best way is to visit crystalcovebeachcottages.org. All cottages are rented through Reserve America at reservecalifornia.com, the California State Parks camping reservation website.

Where can I rent beach chairs and umbrellas?
The Beachcomber offers beach chairs and umbrellas rentals at a nominal fee for day use.  The stand is open everyday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the summer months from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We also offer small retail sundries such as beach games and sunscreen.

How long has The Beachcomber been open?
The Beachcomber opened on August 2, 2006.

What was this before it was The Beachcomber?
The Beachcomber was remodeled as a restaurant from an existing cottage in the park. It used to be called the Whistle Stop and we pay homage to that with the train set and station displayed inside the dining room.

Where do we park and how does it work?
Parking for the entire Historic District is at the State Park Los Trancos parking lot located on the North side of Pacific Coast Highway. You may pick up The Beachcomber Shuttle at the Shuttle Stop. Parking begins at $5.00 and can move up to $15.00 Monday – Thursday for 3-hours or more, and up to $20 Friday – Sunday and some holidays for 3-hours or more. Where is the tunnel?
The tunnel, which connects the parking lot to the Historic District, is located under Pacific Coast Highway. You can get to the tunnel by following the footpath from the Los Trancos parking lot by heading to the southern most corner of the lot. It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the restaurant.

Where can I get the shuttle?
You may pick up The Beachcomber Shuttle at the covered Shuttle Stop . The shuttle costs $2.00 per person one way and children under the age of 12 ride for free with each paying adult.

Do you take Group Reservations?
Unfortunately, we are unable to take reservations at this time. In order to maximize the enjoyment of the park to the general public, The Beachcomber is prohibited from accepting any group reservations or hold any private parties on deck or in the main dining room of the restaurant. Please contact our catering department at (949) 644-8759 if you would like to hold a special event at one of the event sites located in the Historic District.

What is the corkage fee?
$25.00 per bottle, bottle must be unopened prior to arrival at The Beachcomber.

Is The Beachcomber open year round?
YES! The Beachcomber is a great place to visit in any season! However, we are closed on Thanksgiving Day, close at 3:00 PM on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. We are OPEN on New Year’s Day for those who would like to celebrate the New Year with us!

Where are the restrooms?
Restrooms for the restaurant are located next to the path entrance to the Historic District.

What other food or beverage options are available in the Historic District?
The Beachcomber has several options to choose from for a quick bite to an elegant dinner. We offer “to-go” food at the Beachcomber Express from Father’s Day to Labor Day, beverages and appetizers at the Bootlegger Bar, a unique mix of organic breakfast items, non-traditional menu creations and beach favorites, in the cafe. (Please visit the “MENUS” section on the website to tempt your palette!)

There is also a Shake Shack located on the top of the bluff, providing hot and cold sandwiches, delicious shakes and other refreshments!

Where are your takeout menus?
The Beachcomber does not currently offer takeout from the restaurant, however – we are pleased to provide “to-go” menu options at the Beachcomber Express from Father’s Day through Labor Day yearly.  Please check back to the website when we announce changes to what we have to offer. Can we take our dog on your patio?
Dogs are not allowed at the restaurant with the exception of Service Animals which are defined as any animal that provides a medical service for any individual with a disability. A Service Animal is NOT a pet.

Does The Beachcomber have a full bar?
YES! The Bootlegger Bar is the perfect place to grab a tropical cocktail and appetizer before your meal at the cafe.  It is also a great place to end your day in the pale blue lights of the bar’s tropical decor.  Please join us every evening at 5:00 PM or sunset as we raise the martini flag and salute to a Crystal Cove Historic District tradition.

Can we reserve the patio for large groups?
In order to maximize the enjoyment of the park to the general public, The Beachcomber accepts group reservations of 8 to 25 people in our bar area during the months November – March. Our catering department is eager to help plan a special event at one of the event sites located in the Historic District. Please call (949) 644-8759 for more information.

Do you have gift cards?
YES, purchase yours in time for the holidays at The Beachcomber and on the website under “GIFT CARDS“.

Does your restaurant have vegetarian options?
Yes, The Beachcomber offers vegetarian and vegan friendly menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner!  Please see the “MENUS” section of the website for a complete menu.
